Since it is almost time for school to start again, we are focusing on making sure our educators feel supported while keeping safety precautions in mind.
We have cancelled our annual Red Apple Luncheon that welcomes and celebrates teachers, but we still want to make sure each classroom has what it needs in the fall, and that each teacher feels welcome.
Here are two ways you can help, and make some great community connections while giving back:
Adopt A Classroom
We are collecting monetary donations to pass along as a “virtual classroom supply drive.” Our goal is to present each educator with $50 to purchase supplies, and to accomplish this, we need to collect a total of $4,250. The deadline for this is August 12th, and checks can be made payable to the Eagle Grove Chamber. All sponsors will be recognized by their name (and logo if applicable) when we present the money. Daybreak Foods is partnering with us on this, and has pledged to adopt the first 8 classrooms! See attached flyer for details.
Gift Bags
We want to continue giving welcome bags to new educators, containing items from our business community to make them feel at home and materials to help them learn about Eagle Grove. There are 10 new teachers this year who will receive welcome bags. If you want to contribute, here are a couple ways to do so (do one or both), and the deadline is August 12th:

- Come up with a coupon idea and send it to the Chamber via email. We will make the coupons and put them in the welcome bags (we would also like to give the coupons to ALL teachers and new residents to encourage spending locally).
- Donate 10 items of your choice to go into the bags—make an appointment to drop them off at the Chamber/CDC office.
We know right now is difficult for so many individuals and businesses, so if now is not a good time to participate, we understand. Just by being chamber members, you are already helping the community, and we thank you for that. If we can be of assistance to you, please let us know, and thank you so much for your partnership.
